I'm Gregory Steinberg, and I live in Austin, Texas. When I'm not writing, you'll find me camped somewhere out in central Texas, casting a line into a quiet stretch of water, or out on a trail with Sammy and Hudson a few steps ahead of me.
This page isn't a resume. It's just the real version of me. I live in Austin, Texas, and most of my free time goes toward the things on this page: getting out into the country, fishing, putting words on a page, and keeping up with two dogs who have a lot more energy than I do.
I camp and fish all over central Texas, never in just one spot. Half the fun is finding a new stretch of water or a quiet place to pitch a tent that I haven't tried before. When I'm back home, I write. If you're looking for Gregory Steinberg in Austin, this is me.
I camp all around central Texas, moving from spot to spot rather than sticking to one. There's nothing better than a night out under a big Texas sky with the dogs curled up nearby.
Writing is how I make sense of things. I share most of what I write over on Medium, where I post when something's worth saying. You'll find a link to it down below.
I fish all across central Texas, from Hill Country creeks to the lakes and rivers around Austin. Early mornings on the water are about my favorite way to start a day.
Sammy and Hudson come along for most of it. They're the best trail partners I've ever had, and you can meet them properly just below.
Small, stubborn, and absolutely convinced he runs the show. Sammy may be the little one, but he's got the biggest personality of anyone in the house and he's not about to be left behind on a trip.
All heart and endless energy. Hudson lives for the water, the trail, and the back seat of the truck on the way to wherever we're headed next. If there's a lake within reach, he's already in it.
These are my real, personal profiles. If you want to follow along with the trips and the dogs, or read what I've been writing, here's where to find me.
